Doulton Lambeth porcelain scent bottle gold mounted

Doulton Lambeth porcelain flacon style scent bottle decorated in relief, beige and green decoration over a brown ground, with ferns, surrounded horshoe fashion, by rows of pearls. The hinged domed lid reveals a 14ct collar lid and stopper. Impressed marks inside the lid are for assistant artist Emma Burrows and Emily Welch, her assistant. Impressed number A1 over 111 to base. The mount is marked with an oak leaf (gold content 585, 14 carat). A talented group of women designers joined Doulton in the 1870s (1876) and made it famous in the world of decorative ceramics.
