Silver and enamel perfume box shaped as a mandolin of Viennese manufacture (probably by Simon Grenew). It is difficult to say whether the exterior, decorated with guilloché enamel musical scenes, is more beautiful than the enamelled interior, which contains a “pastille” in gold engraved with a sacred subject, St. George fighting the dragon. This iconography and the “box” shape make think of the use of a solid essence, and therefore a mixed function between aesthetics and treatments.
