Enamelled metal scent bottle of uncertain age and production. The two central medallions depict two couples in courtship scenes, but their clothing is unusual, apparently of exotic origin. My first thought was that they might represent the four continents, but that’s just a guess. The enamel colors are particularly bright and vibrant, unlike French or Austrian production from the late 19th century. The frame and cap are very elaborate and precious, made of gilded metal, embellished with semi-precious stones and terminating in an eagle with outstretched wings.
