Porcelain Brittany Spaniel dog carrying two scent bottles

Porcelain Brittany Spaniel dog carrying two square scent bottles with caps, supported by a metal pack-saddle and two bands worked with vine leaves. The same band surrounds the base painted to represent a lawn. The whole is mounted on a white marble base, fixed with two pins (perhaps added lately). Under the dog, barely visible, a little blue mark. This toy has a strong symbolic meaning: the dog for fidelity in love, the pack with the two bottles for the couple, the forget-me-nots for the constancy of love, the grapes for Christian love and the desired fertility. It was probably a gift for an engagement or wedding.
