Spherical perfume bottle carved from a fossil swamp oak

Spherical scent bottle carved from a fossil bog oak, wood that cames from trees buried in peat bogs and preseved from decay in anaerobic conditions for long periods. The stained brown colour is due to tannis dissolved in the acid water. The carving forms leaves, flowers and musical instruments like a guitar and a Celtic harp. Silver mount and cone-shaped neck, missing stopper.
