Mother-of-pearl little boat, souvenir of Liverpool with glass scent bottle and thimble

This little boat is a souvenir of Liverpool, as is printed on the mother of pearl sail, but the underside of the shell ‘hull’ reveals that it was made in Germany. It sits on a prettily embossed metal base. Near the bottom of the mast there is a curved metal prong onto which the thimble sits, and on the other side of this there is a circular metal loop into which the little glass scent bottle fits. The gilt metal rudder has an eagle finial and there is a jaunty metal flag flying from the top of the masthead. The clear glass scent bottle has 8 sides and a frosted glass stopper.
