Palais Royal presentation: mother of pearl mandolin containing a glass and vermeil scent bottle

Palais Royal presentations: a mandolin-shaped mother-of-pearl vase with brass trim and handle, ending in a suspension ring. The mandolin opens to reveal a vermeil glass perfume bottle with a hinged cap and an internal glass stopper. Curiously, the bottle, nestled in a red velvet base surrounded by a cord, hangs upside down.
